FEMA Regulations, 2014 (Transfer or Issue of Security by a Person Resident Outside India)

The Reserve Bank of India makes the amendments in the FEMA (Transfer or Issue of Security by a Person Resident Outside India) Regulations, 2000. Accordingly, any foreign institutional investor (FII) who holds a valid certificate of registration from SEBI shall be deemed to be a registered foreign portfolio investor (RFPI) till the expiry of the block of three years. A  registered FII including SEBI approved sub-accounts of the FIIs, after registering as RFPI shall not be eligible to invest as FII.
