I-T department recently announced to revamp its official website. The new website is being developed with an intent to make the present interface more user-friendly and feature-rich. The department has invited feedback from the public on the existing website and make their suggestions for the new website.

Calling all stakeholders to contribute in building a better website, the department put an invite on its website saying, “The National website of the income-tax department, http://www.incometaxindia.gov.in is undergoing re-development. In this regard, the Department is inviting suggestions from all the stakeholders on the design, facilities, contents and features that you would like to incorporate in the new Website.”

The suggestions can be posted on the current website of the income tax department – http://www.incometaxindia.gov.in/Feedback_Website.asp.

If you want to give your inputs, all you need to do is fill in your name, e-mail address and phone number and thereby post your respective suggestion.

The collected suggestions will be examined and analyzed by a panel consisting of information technology professionals and tax experts. The officials are expecting to get all the approved changes incorporated in the new website by the commencement of the next fiscal year.

This initiative will come as an added advantage to an earlier announcement made by I-T department regarding the upgrading of applications for the Tax Deduction Reconciliation, Analysis, and Correction Enabling System (TRACES).

The department is expecting to receive extensive feedback from the taxpayers, touching every aspect of taxation be it e-filing or grievance redressal, checking challan status or getting tax updates. The redesigned website is expected to make the taxation matters easier-than-ever. This much-needed initiative taken by I-T department will surely give taxpayers a reason to be merrier!
